Even a failing crank pulley or worn DMF can cause this issue as can alternator diode or a failing battery, so don't concentrate wholly on engine sensors.

You can quite easily sort the idling out with a tweak of Mix and Idle screws, just to get it ticking over, so you can go on to the next bit: Your low revs flat spot is because of your Pilot jet. Webb27 aug. 2001 · The car runs really well under normal driving but has an annoying habit of missing at low revs when it gets really warm, say after coming off the freeway on a hot day and driving round town. As soon as the revs get over 2 - 2.5k all is well agian. I can almost predict when it will happen by watching the temp gage. Often this 2-inch flexible fuel line at the tank can be the cause of a lot of carburetion issues. As it deteriorates and cracks, it will leak. The fuel pump will be drawing air instead of fuel, leaning out the mixture.

Remove the fuel pump relay and jumper pin 87 to pin 30 (look at relay bottom) at the harness socket. Leave relay removed. With the engine off, turn ignition to on.
