I don't use either a lot because I prefer the skew for beads or tapers, the spindle gouges are typically only used for coves. Packards carries the Lacer skew (1-3/8 X 3/8) for $125. I don't believe Doug Thompson makes a roughing gouge, so I am looking at the BB 2" model, but it sure seems to be large compared to what I am using - which I think is 1".
