Can ping server but cannot access shares
WebJun 25, 2013 · The server is connected by LAN. On one computer running windows XP I can see the server but are not allowed to acces them. On another computer on the WIFI-net running win7 I cannot see the server at all but I can ping the server and I can see the smb-protocoll is running when sniffing with wireshark. It is very simple. by default the eth port of the AP will be untrusted hence you are not able to ping over wired port. when you are tring to reach the AP through the controller . traffic comes through GRE hence you are able to ping the AP from the controller. Ie, you're rejecting the SMB/CIFS related traffic. Allowing 137/udp, 138/udp, 139/tcp, 445/tcp should help.
